Overview
SFFILM, the nonprofit behind the San Francisco International Film Festival, runs a festival plus year-round programming, education, and filmmaker grants. Its website handles ticket sales, memberships, and donations, but hadn't seen a meaningful refresh since 2018 and has buckled under pressure during previous years' festivals.
As lead designer and project manager, I redesigned its four highest-traffic areas: home, membership, calendar, and ticketing, while leading a two-person dev team from audit to launch of a modernized backend and frontend experience. It shipped for the 2026 festival on a lean budget and broke the organization's ticket-revenue records.
